Personal Life

[edit]

1997~

After failing his university entrance exams, he got addicted to Pachislot (a form of Japanese slot machine). Since he was aiming for an engineering degree, he used his know-how to theoretically analyze the mechanism of slot machines and how to consistently win.

He later passed the entrance exam for engineering college but spent most of his time playing Pachislot instead of attending classes. While playing Pachislot, he came across the theories of "kikaiwari (payout ratio)" and "gensanchi (value to be subtracted from the count)," and earned 4-5 million yen a year playing the machines. [1]As a result of the time spent gaming, he couldn't move up to the next grade in college for three years and felt left behind in society.

At the age of 24, he was invited to start an online business, but it did not go well. Then, through an online business connection, he met an entrepreneur living in the Philippines who changed his life. The entrepreneur taught him business theories and the fundamentals of finance, which laid the foundation for his current business. While collaborating with that entrepreneur on a new business project, the entrepreneur went missing with the funds, leaving him with a debt of 30 million yen.[2] He was saved by the success of the automated FX and stock investment software business that he was running outside of the Philippines. After taking around 14 years to pay-off his debts, he realized that "all responsibility in business is one's own responsibility”. He acquired the belief that he should not hold others responsible for the failures, and that he could recover through his own business. This experience led him to his current position as an angel investor.
