The Terror Twister 2 is a Zamperla tea cup ride located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. It was built in 1996 and operates normally during the Spring and Summer as Chubasco.

During the annual Fright Fest Halloween event, the ride is enclosed and becomes a dark ride named Terror Twister 2: A Turn For The Worse (formerly simply Terror Twister)

Location

Terror Twister 2 is centrally located in the middle of Southwest Territory.

Theme

Terror Twister 2 operates as Chubasco. The ride is covered in a mission-style building and has an adjacent courtyard. The ride queue is uncovered, yet shares the walls of the larger Mission building, which also contains a bell tower. During Fright Fest, the ride is transformed into a dark ride named Terror Twister 2: A Turn For The Worse. When operating as Terror Twister 2, the ride plays loud techno music and displays a light show.

Upgrade From Terror Twister

In 2009, the ride was rebranded from Terror Twister to Terror Twister 2: A Turn For The Worse. The rebranding included a new sign, replacement of the intelligent lighting from scanner-type lighting to LED bars mounted to both the ceiling and floor. Other upgrades included a new sound track, longer ride time, Ultraviolet lasers, and heavier fog. The lights and fog were also heavily synchronized to the music.
