Systems Health is an American education company, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Systems Health was founded by V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai in 2011.
Ayyadurai has been interested in systems science since he was a child watching his grandmother cure patients in his native village of Muhavur in Tamil Nadu, India.[1][2] Ayyadurai later conducted research in the medicinal approach prevalent in Tamilnadu centuries ago – the practice of Siddha. As he studied it more and more, he understood that the practice of Siddha was a highly evolved scientific system of treating people of diseases/disorders[3]. He was truly amazed at its strong and systematic framework that helped it achieve a holistic approach to treatment, and a level of sophistication on a scientific foundation that had hitherto been unattributed to the practice. Ayyadurai's research resulted in a breakthrough paper that conclusively validates the scientific foundation of Ayurveda and Siddha, based on modern control systems engineering[4]
Ayyadurai adapted his formal Western research and study to focus on developing new systems for pattern analysis across multiple disciplines. In parallel, he trained in many Eastern modalities including various forms of Yoga, Meditation, Nutritional and Herbal Medicines, learning from esteemed sages and masters in the oral tradition.[5][6] After nearly four decades of research, he discovered Systems Health. The Systems Health approach is what is needed to integrate eastern and western knowledge so we can get a holistic understanding of anything related to health. Systems Health is a revolutionary educational program incorporated by Ayyadurai bridging eastern and western systems of medicine that aims to educate Medical Doctors and healthcare/holistic practitioners in the foundation of systems theory as a basis for all systems of medicine – east and west, scientific and traditional, ancient and modern.[7][8][9]
Systems Health has created a specific, east-west, systems based courses that can help people as individuals, health care practitioners or MDs understand how ancient remedies work based on decades of scientific research.[10]
