Mc Carthy Samalani was born and raised in Malawi; he holds BSc degree in Public Health from Skyway University and associate Degree in Business administration from University of the people, His field work experience dates back from 2011 and he has worked with local and international organizations in different capacities. Worked at YONECO as the Project Officer and was responsible for youth development,women issues and human rights, thereafter he worked with PSI Malawi as a Youth Alert! Supervisor responsible for youth clubs, youth economic empowerment and sexual reproductive health rights.

Currently McCarthy is co-founder and a director of local NGO called Interactive Society for Health and Development (ISOHEDE) that envisioned a healthy and resilient people that enhances positive change and sustainable development.https://isohede.org/?page_id=172 McCarthy has attended a number of short courses in different fields namely: Civic leadership, guidance and counseling, Youth Development, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV management and Environment advocacy among others.

He is also a recipient of different scholarships for conferences which include: African youth dialogue, emerging leaders’ conference, brightest young minds, international youth conference and in 2015 Milky way youth movement selected him as Global youth Ambassador.

McCarthy has championed the 2012, youth policy formulation, women rights, youth development and climate change advocacy in Malawi. McCarthy has demonstrated skills in project implementation, proposal writing, report writing, data management, public speaking and setting.
