Demek Ticyn Kemp (born April 26, 1996) is an American professional track and field sprinter who specializes in the 100 m and the 60 m.

Career & Bio[edit]

A Walton County native and 2014 graduate of Monroe Area High School. Demek participated in football and track & field starting with the Walton County Recreation Department, then on to Carver Middle School finishing up at Monroe Area. His senior year at Monroe Area High School Demek was the Georgia High High School Association AAA State Champion in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the long jump. Demek set records at his high school in both the 100 and 200 meters as well as the long jump. Upon graduation Demek received a scholarship to compete in track & field at the small Division I HBCU South Carolina State University which is the Alma Mata of his father.

At South Carolina State University Demek continued to excel in the sport setting records. In 2018 Demek suffered a severe knee injury that almost ended his track & field career. But through perseverance, dedication and hard work and determination, Demek returned stronger than ever earning the status of NCAA Indoor All-American in the 60 Meter Dash placing 3rd at the 2018 Championship. The following year he competed in the USA Track & Field Championship meet and won the 60 meter title equaling his previous personal best to 5.55 seconds. Demek graduated May of 2019 Cum Lade with his B.S. in Industrial Engineering. The summer of 2019 Demek signed a professional contract with T.C. Management in Culver City, CA. His talents also allows him to explore his drawing talents as well as his musical talents composing musical beats and sounds. But his hobby when he is not training is playing video games. Currently Demek is still coached by his former college Coach Tim Langford who is now the Head Coach at Oklahoma University where Demek serves as a voluntary coach.
