Erick Philips, better known by his online alias M3RKMUS1C, or simply Merk, is an American video game commentator. He produces content on YouTube centered on playing popular First Person Shooters such as the Call of Duty games. His channel grew and continues to grow over the years though his great subscribers and the fact that he does as much as he can to entertain his viewers
Early life[edit]
Erick Philips played many games as a child and has been playing the popular FPS series, Call of Duty, for more than a decade. He has also plaed classic games like the original Croc, and Croc 2.
Erick Philips did not attend college and made that decision at the end of senior year and decide to devote his life to entertaining his viewrers on Youtube. Many people do not know that he is an avid guitar player and plays the electric guitar and also collects them. He first started his channel making videos of him teaching and playing the guitar in front of a camera that he mounted on a stick.
YouTube career[edit]
Format[edit]
The majority of M3RKMUS1C's videos take the format of live gameplay. He plays video-games while filming himself and collaborating with other Youtubers, his close friends, and generally having a good time with his small close-knit group of friends. He also does videos with his viewers from time to time to test the games he plays and to have fun with the people that he works to please.

Philips created the M3RKUS1C channel on YouTube on April 22, 2009.
Philips plays with other Youtubers such as MerkRampage which is his little brother. Erick Philips was born in Bostron, Massachusetts and enjoys not only playing FPS games but also games like Gary's Mod and Minecraft. Not much is known about M3RKMUS1C's personal life since he does not include information of his family or home address, for safety reasons.
