George Julio (DOB) is a Maltese-born Australian wrestler, known for having one of the longest running wrestling careers in Australia from his debut in 1965 up until his retirement in 2015, at the time, he was the oldest wrestler in the country (check this claim) along with running his professional wrestling school (name of school) which has trained hundreds of wrestlers (list of a few)

Steve Ravic (born November 19, 1973) is an Australian-born Croatian film Director, Producer and editor who is also known for his work in the music industry and engaged in public speaking and mentoring around the world.

After a career in investigative journalism and producing public television and radio, Steve Ravic then went on to create live concert coverage, music videos and feature ‘rockumentary’ films internationally since the 90’s.

He has collaborated with Neil Johnson on several film and music related projects and worked with various music artists all over the world including Doro, Manowar, Gamma Ray, Rhapsody, The Poodles and Thompson, these projects having been released by companies such as Universal Music, Nuclear Blast, Sony Pictures and have been broadcasted on television networks worldwide.

Having branched out from music related projects, Steve Ravic began to focus on feature films, most recently working with acclaimed artist Charles Billich on the documentary “Behind the Canvas” and biopic “My Way” as well as Action/Thriller 'Hotel Underground'.



Early Life

Steve Ravic was (born Stipe Ravic on November 19, 1973) in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia to Croatian immigrants that fled the communist regime of Yugoslavia. Steve Ravic was raised in St. Albans (a suburb of Melbourne).

Being a part of the Croatian migrant community, Ravic was raised with a great understanding for people that have suffered from tyrannical regimes, which inspired him to become a community leader and activist speaking out against communist totalitarianism.

His aspiration for Croatian independence was realized before turning eighteen.


Steve Ravic’s career began in 1992 after leaving Australia, doing investigative journalism and volunteer work in Croatia while the nation was under siege from occupying forces. His early work included coverage of the war and exposing communist politicians that were infiltrating the new Government.

Upon his return to Australia, Steve Ravic became the Co-producer of a Croatian ethnic television program ‘TV Vukovar’ on public access television when he spent the better part of two years while also attending Victoria University for business studies completing the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme and the exclusive YBI (Youth Business Initiative) where he was also rewarded with a certification and a grant.


Career

After completing business studies, Steve Ravic opened his first business Samson Video Productions namely producing music video’s for local Heavy Metal bands. The business was later renamed to Samson Productions / Metal Warriors.

Samson Productions represented video and film related work where as Metal Warriors became focused on music related projects including a record label and tour promotions arm.

In 1999, Metal Warriors expanded by opening a European office in Germany. Metal Warriors also sponsored a number of bands helping them further their careers and expand to an international level. Steve Ravic instrumented the signing of many Australian bands to European labels including Vanishing Point and Dungeon both later completing historical tours that would open the door for many other Australian artists.


In 2005/2006, Steve Ravic was recruited by the Australian Government to be a peer / advisor for the Australia Council For The Arts. His duties included reviewing grant applications and providing professional advise on projects related to international touring for bands. Due to a strong international demand, Ravic resigned his position to be able to focus on the international expansions.

The entity was soon divided in 2007 and Metal Warriors became incorporated as Metal Warriors Pty. Ltd.

While Samson Productions changed names to Majestic Film in 2007 which later became a partnership business (2016).


Most recently Steve Ravic has completed a documentary on Charles Billich, ‘Billich: Beyond The Canvas’ which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Marche in 2019. Between collaborating with Charles Billich on more projects, Steve completed production of Action/Thriller Hotel Underground, which completed principle filming in 2019 and post-production in 2020.

Currently Steve is working on a biopic about Charles Billich entitled ‘My Way’.
