Martin Fleisher (1958 - ?), a preeminent U.S. attorney specializing in the areas of pensions and employee benefits. [1] He is a two-time national champion bridge player and a platinum life master member of the American Contract Bridge League [1].
Martin became the youngest life master from New York when he attained that goal as a 17 year old in 1976. That same year his team reached the final match of the Grand National Teams knockout championship. [2]. Thus he achieved the record as the youngest player ever to reach the final of an ACBL major team championship. This record still stands. Less than two years later he won the Intercollegiate championship by the the largest margin ever recorded in a major pairs championship.[3]
Since his return to bridge in 2000 he has won 2 major ACBL titles and placed 2nd in 4 others. He was also the champion of the 2000 Cavendish Invitational Pairs, a $1,000,000+ prize pool event.[4]
Originally from Teaneck, New Jersey, Martin now lives in Manhattan with his wife, Andrea Bierstein.
