Synopsis

Howard is the story of Howard White growing up into a young man while living in a city ruled by a gang. As he grows up he gains a nemesis in Tony, the son of the gang leader Alex, after a brutal school fight. He finds his first love in a girl named Melissa. But, after Howard is blamed for the death of Tony's brother, Bradley, Howard is faced with a decision. Run or fight. Whatever the decision he must deal the consequences of that decision and the actions that follow.

Plot

June 16th, 1982 Howard White is born in the city of Los Angelos at the cities hospital. During his birth, his mother Regina White, dies leaving David to raise Howard on his own. While in the 4th grade Howard and David get stuck in an ally by three men searching for a quick buck. After David kills two of the men and leaves the third badly injured, David and Howard run from the scene. This spawns Howard's yearning to learn how to fight. 4 years after the fight in the ally, David recieves a phone call from the hospital informing him that Howard is in the hospital in the ICU. David rushes to the hospital and is greeted by the receptionist, Jennifer. Jennifer tells him Howard has been placed in room 808 and he rushes there. There David is met by the doctor whom informs David of how injured Howard is and that he'll have to stay in the hospital. David waits for Howard to wake up before he confronts on why he's had to continually fight what brought him to fight that specific time. Howard says a girl that Tony hit and it causes David to have a slight panic. After asking Howard who Tony's father is, by which he answers Alex Giovanni, David agrees to teach Howard how to fight before he leaves the hospital for Howard to rest. A couple days later David goes back to the hospital to pick up Howard. While David waits for Howard to get to the lobby he talks to Jennifer and they discover that they are both are a widow and widower that have not let go of the past loves. David then asks Jennifer out as Howard is walking out into the lobby. Howard spent a year out of school to recover and hopefully have the tension between Tony and himself die down. During this time Jennifer and David had begun a serious relationship as Jennifer has moved into the David and Howard's apartment. One night Howard, David, and Jennifer go to dinner at a local diner where, after help from Jennifer, David again agrees to teach Howard to fight. After dinner that night the three of them go to a movie where, once again, Tony attempts to bully Howard as Melissa and two of his body gaurds stand him. David scares Tony and Tony disappears for the remainder of the night. During the movie Howard gets up to go use the bathroom and as he exits the bathroom he sees Melissa walk out of a theatre crying. Howard follows her to find her crying on a bench. He spends the rest of the movie trying to cheer her up. As the movie ends he finds out that the only reason she's with Tony is because Alex was willing to take her in.
