Martin Okoed (born on Wed, June 06, 1979 – ) is a Ugandan teacher, young people’s health activist and self-proclaimed poet.

Okoed is an ethnic Etesot, born in Ng’ora, in eastern Uganda. He studied Computer Studies and Economics at Kumi University where he later served on faculty, as the first Kumi University graduate part time Teaching Assistant in the department of IT and Computing. He also studied Helping Students Cope with Traumatic Events at iEARN-USA.

Okoed started working at Ngora Photo Studio and Computer Center (2003). Later, Okoed served as Information Officer of Faith Action Limited, now Faith Action Development Organization Teso, (2003 – 2005). He was also Manager of Ngora High School-based Telecenter (2005-Jan 2009) and Computer Studies Teacher of Busoga College Mwiri, Jinja (Feb-Aug 2009). Okoed played a pivotal role in reviving the WSWM club in which he delivered the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights curriculum, at Ngora High School. Presently, he serves as an Information Technology Support Officer at Cyber School Technology Solutions, Uganda.

His poems God, You are a Wall, My Love, Precious and This World is Round reflect his family life and faith in God in times of adversity.

Okoed is remembered in Kumi University, where he did odd jobs to raise his pocket money, for founding Kumi University Education Students’ Association (which later became part of Teso Students’ Development Association, TESDA, Kumi University Branch).
