LatinX Futurism in Film

[edit]

In film, LatinX Futurism is incorporating LatinX culture in science fiction and other related genres of speculative fiction. Cultural productions of LatinX futurisms are rooted in LatinX speculative and science fiction, which present themes such as "diaspora, colonialism, indigenous subjugation and hybrid cultures" which help paint a picture of the LatinX experience[1]. LatinX futurism in film can be presented through relevant themes including the implications of migrations and conquest, which are an important part of LatinX history[1].
