Tae chew association of Thailand is a public park located in a huge graveyard at Sathon, Bangkok. It was. founded in 1899 A.D. At first this area was only for a graveyard run by a few locals and old Chinese people who donated money to develop the area. Later they transferred the ownership to the government at that time to help take care of this place.

In the past this place was known among local people as a very scary graveyard in Bangkok. Then the district office collaborated with the government to develop this area and turn it into a green, healthy park.

The area, located in the middle of business area of Sathon district, covers over 200 acres. It accommodates over 70,000 dead bodies and . is also allocated as a place for exercise and relaxing. There are a corner of the book house of Bangkok and the part of the athletic field of the city. Moreover, the place has been maintained as the site of the original Chinese people.

Even though this place was already shifted to a public park, it still keeps old tradition and culture as well as merges old people with new generations. People will see and feel the real Chinese architecture and culture while using or doing the activities in the park. It is very interesting that the government still keeps the graveyard as a tribute to the predecessors. This place is also used for holding parties and celebrating events by many users around Bangkok. There is a car park and a big hall which can accommodate more than 1,500 people.

Tae chew Association of Thailand is different from other public parks because it still has thousands of dead bodies in the graveyard. Therefore, you can see traditional events of Chinese families that come to pay respect to those bodies. In addition, the park is full of facilities and activities such as a gymnasium, a sport complex (outdoor court), the elderly’s club, a jogging club and a hall for holding events. People can live their normal daily life in this place that is full of beliefs and culture. You will not see any other places like this anywhere in the world. It combines old and new generations together in a very modern area of Sathon, surrounded by huge residential areas and big office buildings. Even though things around this graveyard keep changing and developing, this place is still the same and peaceful among busy and modern environment.
