Life Is Strange is an American science fiction-horror web television series created, written, and directed by Bryan Bowen and released on Netflix. Bowen, Kyle Adams, and Violet Dyer serve as executive producers. The first season stars Millie Bobby Brown, Dani Knights, Dayeanne Hutton, and Nik Shriner, with Ashly Burch and Carlos Luna in recurring roles. For the second season, Burch and Luna were made series regulars, along with the additions of Rhianna DeVries, Kylie Brown, Nick Apostolides, Bootsie Park, and Caleb Thomas. The third season added a new story and new characters, such as: Gonzalo Martin, Roman Dean George, Daryl Mercury, Chandler Mantione, and Mei Pak, with Amador Plascencia, Robert Shearer and Nick Apostolides in recurring roles.

Life Is Strange is an anthology series, so every season has a different story, different characters, and a whole new dimension and view of life. Regardless of all the changes, every season connects somehow to one another. The first season is set in the small town of Arcadia Bay, in the US state of Oregon. Max Caulfield (Millie Bobby Brown), a shy 18-year-old photography senior who discovers she can rewind time to change the course of events. Back in her hometown Arcadia Bay, Max is reunited with her old friend, Chloe Price, and they start to uncover the truth behind fellow student Rachel Amber's mysterious disappearance, and soon they find themselves exposed to the darker side of Arcadia Bay. The second season, titled Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, is a four-part standalone adventure that serves as a prequel to season one, set three years prior to the events of the first season. A sixteen-year-old Chloe Price forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber, a beautiful and popular girl destined for success. When Rachel learns a secret about her family that threatens to destroy her world, it is her newfound friendship with Chloe that gives her the strength to carry on. No longer alone, the girls must confront each other's demons and find a way to overcome them together. The third season, titled Life Is Strange 2, follows the brothers Sean, age 16, and Daniel Diaz, age 9, and their journey from Seattle, USA to their family's home town of Puerto Lobos, Mexico. The journey starts after the sudden death of their father, Esteban Diaz, age 45, who was killed on October 28, 2016 by a police officer after an incident with Sean, Daniel and the neighbor's kid escalates. When their father is fatally shot, the two start their dangerous journey to Mexico.

To make it into a Netflix Original Series, Bryan Bowen got inspired by the interactive Telltale video game of the same name, to picture how the story would have continued. He developed the series as a mix of supernatural elements and real-life drama situations which all kinds of people face daily. He also got inspired by the fact, that the series could also give a status of Earth and life in general in the near-future.

The first season of five episodes aired for five months, with the first episode released on January 30, 2015, and the finale on May 26, 2015. It received critical acclaim for its characterization, pacing, atmosphere, acting, soundtrack, directing, writing, and visual effects. The second season, consisting of four episodes, debuted on August 31, 2017, and ended on November 21, 2017. In February 2018, Netflix ordered a third season, which began production in June 2018 and will consist of five episodes, and is set to be released on June 28, 2019. Bryan Bowen has said that Life Is Strange has no set end date yet. He also said that the show will go on as long as he and the crew has material and potential for a story to share with everyone. He has believed, that the show is still getting better. A lot of critics and watchers have already praised the show, and have believed that the glory days for Life Is Strange are over. Bowen refuses to think this, and believes that the glory days will begin as the third season releases in one package.
