History
[edit]The precious Lin fairyland searched in at the beginning of 1979, in 1981 official opening to the outside world. It becomes famous the Chinese and foreign by its mysterious topography landform and the magnificent varied stalactite scenery. In, 1991 is evaluated December " China tourist attraction four top-notch ". Yaolin fairyland, otherwise known as Yaolin Cave, is a colossal limestone cave at the foot of the Camel Mountain in Zhinan Township, Tonglu County. on a floor of 28,000 square meters, the cave beckons and bewitches with an unpredictable array of exotic sights. Geographical features
[edit]One of the "Forty Best Tourist Attractions in China", the Yaolin Fairyland is located with in the territory of Tonglu County with picturesque scenery. In the period of Qianlong's reign of the Qing Dynasty, the Tonglu County Annals wrote that "In the Yaolin Cave, there are cliffs, pools, ponds and holes; the walls are as colorful as rainbows in the sky; the spring gurgles with a sound like that of golden drums accompanied by bamboo flutes and xylophones. One would be amazed to hear sounds like that of humans and dogs, an evidence that the place is for supernatural beings to travel and get together". The Yaolin Fairy land is a limestone solution cave. With numerous beautiful rocks and stones in it, the inside of the cave is full of wonderful shapes and magnificent spectacles, some of them are grand while some others quaint, dazzling and mysterious.[3] There are 7 cave halls in the Yaolin Fairyland, connected with each other, with spacious rooms covering a total area of 28,000 sq. meters and a tourist route of one kilometer. The representative landscapes include the Milky Way Waterfall, Ornamental Pillar in Yingzhou, Jade Column Supporting the Sky, Yaolin Jade Peak, all of them are solution-cave treasures rare in the world.[4]

It is reputed as the Best among Chinese Caves. In fact, it is a limestone cave composed of seven sections which are connected one another to extend for one kilometer deep and 28,000 square meters in area. The cave presents a spectacular scene of stalactites and stalagmites in fascinating shapes. The most rarely seen are the Yinhe Waterfalls, the Yingzhou Ornamental Colum, the Jade Pillar That Props Up the Sky, and Yaolin Jade.[1]

Numerous stalagmites and stalactites form a shape of waterfall or curtain, like a fairyland. As a masterpiece of the nature, it is well known in home and abroad for its unique features. Yaolin Fairyland is in Tonglu and is near from Hangzhou. For driving from Hangzhou to Youlin Fairyland will cost about one and half to two hours. Youlin Fairyland is made naturally by lava. It is the "top cave in China". Thousands of tourists come to the Youlin Fairyland each year in order to see the amazing sights. Inside the Youlin Fairyland, the temples, different types of animals and plants always attract the eyes of people since they all made of lava naturally. In the Cave , you will hear a agurgling or bubbling sound of ground water , but you don’t know where is the brook . First Cave Hall name is “ Fairy party”, “ Lion and elephant” just like a folder screen ,left side is a lion , right side is a elephant , welcome your arrival . Go through the “Welcome Gate”, there is a brilliant “palace”, The stalactite is riot of color ,just like the shining star, also like flowing cloud . In the middle of Cave , there is a big “Carp”, jump up with happy .flying waterfall in the galaxy is unusual according to not only structure but also scenery . the highness of waterfall is 7 meter, width is 13meters, just like the melt snow on the ice mountain ,even no sound ,but look like a thunder, what a marvelous spectacle it is ! The landform is Quirky twist at second cave hall .canyon is so deep and remote. clear spring flow slowly , there is a stalagmite in beside of the brook,just like a grandpa lower his head and fishing . Vivid “Lions Hall”:There are more than 50 sign point , some stone like couchant lion, some like jumping lion , some like loudmouthed lion .some lions playing together … “33 layers of Sky” is at the third cave hall. The stalagmite distribute all over the sky .layer upon layer, ring upon ring it’s rosy clouds, it’s crane’s dancing ,it’s peacock display his plumage . Wow! It’s really hard for me to express everything . What a beautiful fairyland it is ! Now go to there without hesitation ! Come on …[6]
