Air Hunger a short film ...
A short film by Jeaniene Green that began as a class project. It's the story of Johnnie Rosalie, the significant other of a man in home hospice who is dying of pulmonary fibrosis. This is his last day alive, but as his granddaughter listens to the nurse explain to Johnnie Rosalie what is happening to his lungs, his granddaughter does something to put her own life in jeopardy and herself be in want of air (or air hungry).
The film stars Lisa Veschecco as the nurse, Aubrey Smalls as the neighbor Mabel, Skylar Smith as the granddaughter, Robert Earl as the grandfather, and Jeaniene Green as Johnnie Rosalie.
The story was inspired by true events. A family friend in hospice became Jeaniene's introduction to hospice care. Shortly after the family friend passed away, the family pet, a cat, too succumbed to ill health. The granddaughter character is actually named after the real life family pet.
