Background and Education

Irene Zikusooka is a Ugandan female Broadcaster and Film Maker who pioneered female broadcasting while working at the Uganda Broadcasting Coporaqtion (UTV) as a programme Controller during the early to mid 1980's[1] She has worked in the Broadcasting Industry for the last 30 years. She is the daughter of the Late Rev Canon James Zikusoka and Kekulina Zikusoka. Irene Zikusooka has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Reading University United Kingdom and a Post gradute Diploma in Film and Television Production from the United Sates of America[2]. Irene Zikusooka is married to Paul Martin Leta.

Media has been the drive of Zikusooka's world in which she has presented news then made documentaries that tell stories about people in Uganda.
