World Citizen® (company)

The World Citizen Pty Ltd company was registered in 1992 to promote the concept of world citizenship.

Funded, designed and run by unpaid volunteers, World Citizen® is founded on these key values:

• The sense of belonging to a world community whose borders are those of this planet and is home to all living things.
• The belief that there is a potency in every endeavour that brings us closer together.
• The acceptance that the well-being and prosperity of each person is inseparable from that of all the people of the world.
• The belief that we should strive to eliminate all forms of prejudice.
• The recognition that, both collectively and individually, we can all make a valuable difference.
• The will to strive for higher ideals that rise above divisive and destructive pursuits.
• The conviction that, in a world of interdependence, the advantage of the part, whether personal, regional or national, is best reached by serving the advantage of the whole.

Its aim is to encourage and support any activity that helps to bring us closer together as the human family and to promote action in the spirit of service.

In order to make it easier for people to put these concepts into practice, the World Citizen® Site was created, which provides access to a centralised source of service-orientated activities and projects initiated by any individual, group or organisation anywhere in the world.

The World Citizen® Site is completely without bias. It is an independent site, not associated with, or affiliated to any governmental, administrative, political, national or religious organisation.
