Nicole Hartono

Nicole Hartono (2009-present) is a tenth-grade student at Radnor High School. She is 15 years old, and enjoys sleeping, watching Netflix, and spending time with her friends. She has divorced parents, a younger brother, and a dog named Henry.

Early Life Hartono was born at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. For the first four years of her life, she lived in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, and when she was five years old, she moved to Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. For kindergarten and first grade, she attended Ithan Elementary School, until experiences with bullying led her to transfer to Sacred Heart Academy Bryn Mawr, a Catholic school. She was a student there from second to fifth grade, until she started at Radnor Middle School for sixth grade, and she stayed there throughout.

Freshman Year and Summer School: Pressure Hartono's freshman year was a difficult one. She never believed what everybody had said about friends changing in high school, and when it happened to her, she struggled with it. She also struggled with her freshman year course work, having experienced internalized pressure to achieve an "A" in all of her classes; this was only amplified by the thought of the college admission process. Such process was the main component surrounding Hartono's decision to attend summer honors geometry, which was a struggle, but it taught her that it was okay to get Bs on tests sometimes.

Interests, Passions, and Favorites Hartono has struggled to find her passion throughout her life. She has quit a multitude of sports and musical instruments over the years, including, but not restricted to: Fencing, Ultimate frisbee, Soccer, Squash (sport), Piano, and Cello. She is interested in Criminology and is thouroughly disappointed her school does not offer it in any form of class. Out of the subjects that are offered at her school, her favorites tend to be english and/or social studies. Hartono's favorite author is Karen M. McManus, who wrote One of Us Is Lying. Her favorite movies include the entire Harry Potter (film series), and her favorite TV show is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She loves listening to musical artists are Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams.

A newfound passion of Hartono's is domestic abuse victim advocacy, inspired by none other than Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Another thing she did during the summer, other than attend summer school, was attain an internship with the Radnor Women's League of Voters, for which she created a presentation about resources for domestic abuse victims.
