About the workshop[edit]

Wikipedia has become an invaluable destination for millions of Internet users seeking information. However, there are too few people who contribute to Wikipedia. This workshop is aimed at equipping the members of GEC to edit Wikipedia and to help them understand the basics of programming.

Important information[edit]

  • As the workshop involves hands-on learning about making contributions to and editing Wikipedia, participants are required to carry a mobile device (laptop, netbook, or tablet).
  • We are using the English-language Wikipedia to instruct participants. Before attending the workshop, register on Wikipedia using the Create account link, if you don't have an account already.
  • The venue has free Wi-Fi.
