Capybara and Human Interaction[edit]

The capybara or Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris is the largest rodent in the world. They are mostly biddable animals but their large teeth can do serious damage when they bite a human, which is rare. Capybara bites, like most wild animal bites, spark the recommendation of antibiotic therapy, rabies and tetanus immunization, and localized care. ^[1]
