Xinjiang was an unrecognised nation in Central Asia bordering Russian Empire and China.IN 1911 Anti Qing sentiment rised and the Uyghurs revolted but the Xinhai revoloution took over xingziang but Yuan shikai granted xingziang autonomy in mid 1912 but the Empire of china took over then collapsed in 1916 leading to theBeyang warlord era started so xingziang became a Clique which was a independent warlord state.

Uyghur uprising

[edit]

In 1911 the Qing dynasty was collapsing to the Tongmenghui so the Uyghurs decided to revolt against the Qing but we’re too slow as the republic of china took over the area so the rebelion joined them. Luckily they were granted autonomy like Mongolia or Tibet but had slightly less autonomy but we’re technically independent.

Governing and relations with countries

[edit]

Xinjian asked to be recognised by china,Russia, and more but failed Sheng shicai was the leader and wanted to be recognised but just like Mongolia and Tibet who failed to be independent not much happened from 1911 to 1914 but ww1 started and China remained neutral despite losing German tsingtao to Japan and not getting it back. The Chinese Yuan was the currency and same with the anthem but did pass its own laws.

Beyang warlord era

[edit]

In December 1915 Yuan shikai declared the Empire of china but this caused regions to leave and become independent these were called cliques the Chinese empire collapsed shortly after leaving major instability with three main factions Beyang goverment,Kuomintang and other cliques. The Xinjiang clique was an independent clique which is was from 1916 to 1929.
