GIld, Inc. was founded in 2011 by Sheeroy Desai and Luca Bonmassar. Their idea was to build a company that would be able to improve the hiring process by helping recruiters focus on the real indicators of developer talent and hire based on merit.. Their solution,The Gild Platform, uses data science, consumer-friendly technologies, and predictive analytics to bring intelligence to all phases of the hiring process.
History
[edit]Gild was founded by Sheeroy Desai and Luca Bonmassar with the vision to "automate the discovery of talented programmers."[2] In 2011, the company received $4.4 million in seed funding. [3]A $9 million Series A finance round In 2013 to develop the Gild Hiring Platform as well as grown the Gild team. In 2014, Gild closed a #13.5 million in a new round of funding. [4]

[edit]Gild's smart hiring platform applies data science, automation, and predictive analytics to every phase of the hiring process to make talent acquisition professionals more effective. [5] The Gild Platform eliminates the manual work that consumes most of a recruiter's time by automating routine tasks like tracking candidates or choosing the right titles and skills to create job reqs that convert. A software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for Hiring Success Management, it supports the entire hiring process, not just sourcing and outreach.[6]
Unlike other solutions that rely on siloed, static data, The Gild Platform automatically refreshes profile data and applies data science to "learn" as it is used. It adapts familiar, consumer-style technology to processes like finding and rating candidates or instantly sourcing prospects with Gild's recommendation engine. On June 1, Gild expanded the platform with its Business Intelligence for Hiring solution, so users can create custom, role-specific dashboards and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy without a seperate BI solution.[7]
