Zaptec - reinventing power
Zaptec is an innovative technology company based in Stavanger, Norway, established in 2012.
They have developed an extremely compact electronic transformer, that has the same performance as
a traditional transformer up to 100 times larger, and has a range of applications in different industries.
This technology is so powerful, that a small energy efficient unit can generate very high voltages, ie
be used as power source for various forms of plasma technology applications.
1. Electrical car chargers (first agreement with Renault Norway, more partnerships in progress)
2. Space (drilling on Mars, established partnership with NASA and ESA)
3. Water cleansing systems (tests will be conducted spring 2015)
4. Power distribution systems (development in progress)
In January 2015, they signed the first commercial agreement with Renault Norway, where they will be the suppliers of a portable charging station, in the form of a charging cable, for the new Renault Zoe. This product, the ZapCharger Portable, solves all challenges for Renault Chamelon charger in Norway, and will be offered all Renault Zoe customers.
The ZapCharger Portable is just one in a portfolio of charging products based on the patented technology from Zaptec.
