Yan Ziling (严子陵) is a very famous person in the history of the ancient China.[1]Around the year 14 CE he studied in Shao Xin. And he did not like to work for the government so he choosed to live in the area which did not have many people and wanted to be a recluse.[2] When he was a child he was the friend of the emperor who named liuxiu.[3] The emperor knew that Yan ziling is a gifted person so the emperor wanted Yan ziling to help him, at first Yan Ziling went to the royal or imperial court but at that time there is another minister thought that Yan Ziling will risk his position and his power will be limited so he always resisted with Yan Ziling, Yan Ziling did not like this kind of lives, so he decided to retire from public life, some days later the emperor LiuXiu went to the Yan Ziling’s house again and hoped that Yan Ziling can help himself. However Yan ziling rejected it because he did not want to work with flunky. Then he traveled around the china and found that there is a place in Fuyang which was very fit for him to live. In the end, he died in FuYang and the place where he died called Yanziling Fishing Platform.[4]. Yanziling Fishing Platform is a major scenic spot in the national scenic area of Fuchun River-Xin’an River-Thousand Islands Lake, one of the relics of East Han Dynasty, and one of the patriotism education bases. Containing east and west platforms, it is also named“Fishing on Two Platforms”. Yanziling Fishing Platform is a historic spot usd by East Han Dynasty’s personage Yanziling. used to be an old classmate of the Emperor regnent Liuxiu.
During this Emperor’s rule, Yanziling refused to take any position in government, and returmed back to Fuchun River with his wife, settled down there to live in privacy, ploughing a field and angling from the river all of his life. People respect his high spirit and build a temple in memory of him. This angling platform is edging Fuchun Rive, on both sides of the river standing high peaks, the river’s water as clean and clear as mirror. It’s the most beautiful part of Fuchun River, regarded as the first old angling platform in Chinese history.[5]
The descend person built up an ancestral temple on the YU LONG montain to commemorate him, and millions of people went this montain every year.
According to statistics from the The northern and Southern Dynasties To the Qing Dynasty, there are more than 1000 poets, Writer Come here, and left over 2000 poems.Fan Zhongyan then wrote: "云山苍苍,江水泱泱,先生之德,山高水长", "先生" refers to Yan Ziling . Yu Dafu write some sentenses"曾因醉酒鞭名马，生怕情累美人" . And in april 1949. Mao Zedong write a book which nemed "和柳亚子先生" the story hwppened in the book is base on the story happened on the yanziling..[6]
Lu You had a piece of "鹊桥仙" to write Spirit of the yanziling -- "一竿风月，一蓑烟雨，家在钓台西住。卖鱼生怕近城门，况肯到红尘深处？ 潮生理棹，潮平系缆，潮落浩歌归去。时人错把比严光，我自是无名渔夫".[7]
There are total two platforms. They are nearly 70 meters high, and we can see the whole landscape of the fuchu river in the top of the plantform.[8]
