EducationWorks is Lawrenceville based non-profit that runs before, during, and after school and summer programs for at-risk youth in Philadelphia, Camden, and Trenton. [1] The organization provides educational enrichment activities and teaches the students 21st Century skills through project based learning. [2]
History
EducationWorks started in New Jersey state government in 1992 in Trenton and the 11 other largest cities in New Jersey.[2] In 1994 the organization moved from state government to the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundations and started it's programming in Philadelphia. In 2001 the organizations grew large enough to separate from the WWNFF to become an independent non profit and took on the name they are know by today, "EducationWorks". [2]
Programs
EducationWorks operates an Early Learning Center in Philadelphia in three locations in Trenton and Camden[2], and at more than 20 locations through out Philadelphia [3]
Programs at EducationWorks sites include:

- Student Success Centers
- Summer Camp
- Mentoring
- CAAP/Gear Up Classroom assistance
- In School Suspension
Students in the after school and summer programs engage in activities and learn skills like:
- Homework Help
- Conflict Resolution skills
- 100 Book Challenge
- Youth Media Initiative
- Math Games[3]
- Fitness and Nutrition
- Gardening activities
- Sports activities
- College and Career Exploration[4]
