Avianca Flight 729 departed Bogotá-Eldorado Airport at 8:12 AM local time on a domestic flight to Pasto. Last radio contact was at 9:20 when it reported to a controller at Cali that the flight expected to arrive at Pasto at 10:17. The wreckage was found on January 4, 1967, on a mountain slope 60 kilometres (37 mi) northeast of Pasto.[1]
