Vaccine prioritization is when certain people are designated to receive a vaccine ahead of the general population or other groups of people. When the demand for a vaccine exceeds the supply, the government or private entities may determine that the initial supplies be offered to certain groups of people first, including those most at risk of contracting the disease or those who would suffer more harmful effects if they were to contract it.
