These are refrigerants. Partially to help me remember the names, partially to note ones that need work. Feel free to edit the list, but please bold anything you add that does not need help.

  • Chemical name (Short redirect name that "normal"s can understand)
  1. 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a)
  2. Ammonia (R-717)
  3. Carbon tetrafluoride (R-14)
  4. Chlorodifluoromethane (R-22)
  5. Dichlorodifluoromethane (R-12)
  6. Methyl chloride (R-40)
  7. Trichlorofluoromethane (R-11)
  8. Trifluoromethane (R-23)
  9. Carbon dioxide (R-744/CO2) (Isn't the chemical name easier to remember then the abbreviations?)
  10. Sulfur dioxide (R-764)
  11. Monochlorotetrafluoroethane (R-124)
  12. Dichlorotetrafluoroethane (R-114)
  13. Fluorotrichloromethane (R-13)
  14. Pentafluoroethane (R-125)
  15. Isobutane (R-600a)
  16. Monochlorodifluoromethane (R-22) <-- wtf? R-22 is Chlorodifluoromethane. Must have been some sorta mistake. --Phroziac . o º O (mmmmm chocolate!) 18:51, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
  17. Propane (R-290)

This one's not a refrigerant, but....
