Meringue-troubadour new article content ... Meringue troubadour is a mid-tempo Haitian meringue style played with conga, maracas, accordion, guitars or banjo, maribula or manumba or bass. It is the peasant music taken to the city. This style is in existence since the 1800s. The lyrics are mostly satirical on politicians, adultery, men or women misfortune. The lyrics can give rise to deep love, emotion and joy.
Over year, meringue-troubadour has evolved to include synthesizer and electric guitars but originally or primarily troubadour is better with acoustic guitars.
