Joseph "Joe" Sexton (born 4 August 1995) is the current Vice-Captain of Xavier College.

Early Life

[edit]

Joseph was born in Bendigo Hospital and is the son of 200 game Carlton champion Michael Sexton. As a result, Joe has been selected as part of the Carlton FC 'Father Son Development Academy' and thus, he has been identified as being a possible selection under the father-son rule for the 2013 AFL Draft. At the age of 5, Joe began attending school at Our Holy Redeemer, Surrey Hills, and he developed a deep love for philosophy. In 2006, Joe made a move to prestigious Jesuit Private school Xavier College

Current

[edit]

When not spending time his spare time studying Philosophy at University (even though he is only in Year 12), Joe enjoys playing sport. Apart from AFL, Joe plays tennis and athletics. A talented middle and longer distance runner, his dream is to qualify for the 4 x 800m relay in the 2013 APS athletics championships. In Late 2012, Joe was elected as one of the 2013 Vice-Captains of Xavier College[1]. Joe was also selected to go on the Indian Immersion trip in the summer holidays of 2012/2013. Most impressively, however, Joe is a very active member of the 'Newman Society' at Xavier College, where his reflections have been described as some of the highest quality work which the Society has ever seen.
