Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Orzechowo – Layed with stone Catholic Church in Parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa, in the Września county, in Greater Poland Voivodeship. Now rector is priest Eugeniusz Bednarek.

Located in the northern part of the Orzechowo, on the edge of the streets Bukowa and Jabłoniowa.

History and description[edit]

For 1942, the village Pięczkowo and Orzechowo Dębno belonged to the parish in the Archdiocese of Warta Poznan. The faithful of these villages because of the difficulty to reach the parish church (unregulated river Warta) posted a petition to the Ecclesiastical Authority to disconnect them from the parish Dębno and connected to the parish in Czeszewo.

Clerical Authority took into account the petition (influenced by the fact that in 1904 the day I Holy Communion. Dębno a ferry sank in nine children communion - River Warta often threatened danger of flooding).

On 19.03.1972 was established Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Orzechowo, which included the villages of Orzechowo and Pięczkowo. Pastor of the parish was Father Marian Kałążny that sooner was a vicar in the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Bydgoszcz in the years 1961-1966 and in the Parish of St. Stanislaus in Września in 1966-1968 [1].

After 4 years, ie in 1976, through long and arduous negotiations, the parish received permission to build the temple, and building administrative and residential. The proper construction of the temple started in 1977. Was designed by Eng. Alexander Holas [2]. from Poznan (died 27.06.1993 onwards), the head of the works - Eng. Wladyslaw Radzinski from Września. Temple interior design engineer has done. Ireneusz plastic epilepsy from Leszno.

2 years later, ie on 14.6.1979 foundation stone ceremony. This was done by Fr. bp. John Melanoma - Suffragan of Gniezno. The whole ceremony took place in the presence of the clergy of the deanery and neighboring deaneries of Miłosław.

The construction of the temple was completed 06.09.1987 In the same day, Fr. Cardinal. Joseph Glemp - Polish Primate made its dedication ceremony. Image of Our Lady of the temple dedicated to Pope John Paul II at Jasna Gora in the third pilgrimage to his homeland. Formal introduction to the new Temple Image was held at the end of the Mission of St. the eve of the dedication of the Temple on 09/05/1987

Father died 11/05/2005. can. Marian Kałążny [3]. The next pastor was Fr. Eugene Bednarek, solemn introduction of a new pastor on 11/06/2005 was made by Fr. Bishop Bogdan Wojtuś.

26.08.2012 The parish church was consecrated in Orzechowo, these made the ceremony, Fr. Primate Jozef Kowalczyk.
