I think we have a real need to cleanup and standardize how filmographies are treated in actor articles. There is absolutely no consistency and many of them simply appear to be lifted wholesale from IMDb.

Current proposal[edit]

My proposal is to replace existing filmography sections on actor articles with the following. It uses a series of templates - one each at the beginning and end and the one for each entry. This keeps the presentation consistent and looking good.

Order would be reverse chronological, similar to how IMDb does things. Television guest spots when notable or important would be listed inline, which is different from IMDb, which lists them separately.

Comments are welcome on this talk page.

Known problems[edit]

  • The end template is only two characters because the only thing it does is end the table. This is an inefficient way to do this, but you can't pass templated data to a template, so there's not really a good way to handle this.
  • The screen size is larger than a plain bulleted list.
