Netherlands house for Education and Research[edit]
The Netherlands house for Education and Research is a Dutch association, based in Brussels, founded in 2006. In 2022, the Dutch government assigned Neth-ER the legal duty to inform the Dutch knowledge sector about EU policy developments in fields of education, innovation, and research. Given this, Neth-ER is also largely subsidised by The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Additionally, Neth-ER also has a responsibility in regards to its members. On the Neth-ER website, its core tasks are described as representing institutional interests, identifying opportunities and risks, and positioning the Dutch knowledge sector in European networks. The Neth-ER association has 12 members ; the MBO-Raad, the KNAW, and Nuffic, among others.
Focus areas[edit]
Neth-ER's advisors focus on four specific EU policy areas. These focus areas encompass the most important subjects for its respective members and constituency - these are the Erasmus+ programme, the European Research Area, Horizon Europe, and the European Education Area. Besides this, Neth-ER also informs its target audience on health, digitalisation, and the green transition.
