The Pandits (Los Pandits en Español) Is a non-profit organization for the propagation of good times.
History[edit]
The history of The Pandits is best told from a quote by Spencer Ito "A long time ago four of us had seminary at Northridge High School (Layton, Utah). like any normal teenagers, we liked eating at various places, like: Panda Express, Wendy's, Beto's, and Hello China. Well one day as we were coming from a fantastic lunch at Panda Express we found out that some people don't like Panda Express. We were shocked! Our very own seminary teacher Brother Nordifelt hated it! So we then decided to rebel against him! Thus, the Pandits were formed."
Etymology[edit]
The name The Pandits is a conjugation of Panda Express and Bandit. It has no relation to the Hindu use of pandit nor the east asian terrorist group.
Beto's Counsel[edit]
The Pandits are best know for their Beto's Counsels which are held at 12:00am on holidays that fall on the calendar day of Monday. The friends of The Pandits are invited to eat burritos, socialize, and attend the counsel. The agenda of the counsel includes recent news, the release and review of new movies, a swallowism, presenting and giving of the awards (see below), future plans and projects, and any other comments questions or concerns of The Pandits and/or the friends of The Pandits.
Awards[edit]
Awards are presented at each Beto's counsel and are held by the winner until then next counsel.
The Abacus Award (In reference to the ancient counting tool the abacus), is given to the pandit who can be counted on the most. The Pandits vote on who has been the most reliable in the organization. The award is in the form of a tweed blazer with a large black letter A (for Abacus) on the back. Award winners after they receive the award add a pach of their choosing to the area of the choosing on the jacket. The current holder of the award is Ray Stanford.
The Man Award is given to the pandit who preformed the most manly act. The award at it's inception was available to both men and women but is now only awarded to men to increase the manliness of the award. The award is a coonskin cap and is warn by the holder of the award. The current holder of the award is Darren Swallow.
Associated Organizations[edit]
The Black Widows is a group comprised of the wives/girl friends/mistresses of The Pandits. The Black Widows are invited and participate at Beto's Counsels. They are most know for their award "The Most Thoughtful Pandit" which is give to the Pandit deemed most thoughtful. The award is nothing more than a certificate printed on cheap computer paper.
