At the end of 2007, Andra and the BackBone released a debut album called Swajudul (self-titled) that released through EMI Indonesia in 20 December 2007. This album received a lot of positive review, especially through the single "Sempurna" that also covered by Gita Gutawa.[5] However, "Sempurna" still could surpassed by "Musnah" in the local radio song chart due to the late promotion.[6][a] nonetheless, this album won the golden certification because of the sale that surpass 75 thousand copies.[8] The creative process of recording the drum track in this album was in collaboration with the drummer Yoyo "Padi", except the song "Perih" by Tyo Nugros.[9]

Only a few months later, Andra and the BackBone released their second album "Season 2", Still through the labeling of EMI Indonesia. , The album, released in 21 March 2008 still bringing the same musicality concept as it debut album, with few songs accompanied by guitar distortion and song that was ballads themed.[10] "Season 2" opens with "Muak" through the accompanies of guitar distortion and flat beat also a little variation in the middle of the song. other than that, the ballads songs in this album including "Main Hati", "Hitamku", "Seperti Hidup Kembali" and "Tak Ada Yang Bisa".[5] According to the latest experience with promotion, the single "Main Hati" was released first at the beginning of 2008 in the middle of "Sempurna" popularity and their debut album still on shine, so that they seem overlapping one another, but those strategy was considered success since the album sales was surpassed 40 thousand copies in May 2008. Just like their debut album that included an instrumental song that titled "Surrender", Andra and the Backbone also including instrumental song in the "Season 2" which is titled "3 Keajaiban".[11]
