Side effects during sublingual immunotherapy treatment are usually local and mild and can usually be eliminated by adjusting the dosage.[1] Anaphylaxis during sublingual immunotherapy treatment has occurred on rare occasions.[1]

Side effects such as skin or respiratory reactions during subcutaneous immunotherapy treatment for asthma and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis are common but mild or moderate.[2] Severe side effects such as anaphylaxis during subcutaneous immunotherapy treatment is relatively uncommon.[2]
