Ed Emmett
Ed Emmett is currently the County Judge of Harris County, Texas. Appointed on March 6, 2007, Ed Emmett has since been re-elected to the post twice. His current term ends in 2014.
Before becoming County Judge, Ed Emmett was a private sector Transportation Consultant through a multi-faceted consulting group called the Emmett Company. His vast knowledge on transportation and trade issues has brought him world-wide recognition.
From 1992 to 2003, Ed served as the President of the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL).
Previous to NITL, Ed was appointed by President George H. W. Bush, with unanimous Senate approval, to the Interstate Commerce Commission in 1989. During his 3 years as an ITC Commissioner, Ed coordinated transportation
