The 442nd Signal Battalion is an active duty unit of the United States Army, housed on Fort Gordon. The MACOM for the 442nd is (TRADOC) and they fall directly under the 15th Regimental Signal Brigade.
The 442nd trains the following Signal Corps MOSs
25A – Signal Officer
53A – Information Systems Engineer (Officer)
24A - Network Systems Engineer (Officer)
255A - Information Systems Technician (Warrant Officer)
255N - Network Technician (Warrant Officer)
255S - Cyberspace Defense Technician (Warrant Officer)
25E - Spectrum Manager (Non-commissioned Officer (NCO))
25D - Cyberspace Network Defender (NCO)
They also train the Additional Skills Identifier (ASI)

[edit]The 442nd Signal Battalion leverages Training Development, Training Execution and Team Building in order to apply synergistic effects on the development and execution of quality training and education to produce the next generation of Signal Cyber Leaders who:

•Are tactically and technically competent in the employment of mission command systems within a JIIM environment ISO Unified Land Operations
•Have the mental agility to operate across the full range of military operations

History

- Constituted 19 July 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 442d Signal Construction Battalion, Aviation
- Activated 1 August 1942 in Puerto Rico Puerto Rico
- Reorganized and redesignated 1 August 1944 as the 442d Signal Heavy Construction Battalion
- Inactivated 30 June 1946 in Japan
- Redesignated 6 November 1967 as the 442d Signal Battalion, allotted to the Regular Army, and activated in Thailand (Companies A, B, and C inactivated 14 July 1969 in Thailand)
- Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 442d Signal Battalion, inactivated 30 June 1971 in Thailand
- Headquarters transferred 23 September 1986 to the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command and activated at Fort Gordon, Georgia
