Calendars, Gregorian and other[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar

"England, Scotland and thereby the rest of the British Empire (including part of what is now the United States) did not adopt it until 1752, by which time it was necessary to correct by eleven days (2 September 1752 being followed by 14 September, 1752). "

Must work out the calendar[s] being used in 1642. Robin Patterson 00:57, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Tables[edit]

- temporarily copied some here (needing "edit this page" to see and copy them properly):

Table A table is defined by

which equals

Careful: You must include the space between {| and params, or the first parameter gets ignored.

[edit]TD Cells are generated either like this:

|cell1
|cell2
|cell3

or like this:

|cell1||cell2||cell3

which both equals

so "||" equals "newline"+"|" Parameters in cells can be used like this:

|params|cell1

which will result in

tags will be generated automatically for the first row. To start a new row, use |- which results in Parameters can be added like this: |- params which results in Note: tags will be automatically opened at the first tags will be automatically closed at and

cell1 cell2 cell3

[edit]TH Functions the same way as TD, except "!" is used instead the opening "|". "!!" can be used instead of "||". Parameters still use "|", though! Example:

!params|cell1

[edit]CAPTION A

You can also use parameters:

|+ params|Caption

which will generate

[edit]Examples

[edit]Simple example

tag is created by

Caption Caption
Cell 1, row 1 Cell 2, row 1
Cell 1, row 2 Cell 2, row 2

generates Cell 1, row 1 Cell 2, row 1 Cell 1, row 2 Cell 2, row 2

[There's more on the source page]

Now a fairly blank 3-column table (with heading) for copying:

(Caption, centred - optional line)
(Row x, col 1) (Row x, col 2) (Row x, col 3)
(Row x+1, col 1) (Row x+1, col 2) (Row x+1, col 3) and four
and so on (more)
etc, etc, etc  ! - each column width fits the longest cell

Now a 4-column table based on that one:

(Caption, centred - optional line)
(Row x, col 1) (Row x, col 2) col 3 (Row x, col 4)
(Row x+1, col 1) (Row x+1, col 2) (Row x+1, col 3) and 4
and so on  !
etc, etc, etc! - column width fits longest cell

Here's a fairly blank one all ready:
