Hi! I go by Imya. I'm a college student from Korea studying computer science, and my interests include painting, math, and language learning. I'm passionate about teaching and open source/free software, with emphasis on free (as in free speech, of course). My dream is to be able to design software which imparts the most agency to the user as possible.

Some things in computer science that have caught my interest are operating systems (like Plan 9 from Bell Labs) and programming language theory (functional programming).

I also like music, especially Soviet rock (my favorite band being Nautilus).

Currently, I am learning Russian and my language learning process is heavily influenced by the input hypothesis of Stephen Krashen. In a nutshell, I try to read and listen to as much Russian as possible (though unfortunately these days, that isn't a lot). Впрочем, приятно познакомиться, и всего хорошего!
