VFL Clagnut FC VFL Clagnut FC is an English football club based in Derby. Notable for being one of the twelve founder members of the Fifa 15 Pro Clubs Division 9 in June 2015, and, in August 2015 they were ranked 7th in the top 200 European football teams of the 20th century by International Federation of Football History and Statistics.[1]
VFL Clagnut was founded in June 2015, by Sam Lindsay, Alex Gibson and Tyler Pettinger, as an offshoot of Dyl Sucks FC; it has spent all but one seasons in the bottom five divisions of Fifa Pro clubs football. The club's competitive peak came in August 2015 when they were promoted to Fifa 15 Pro Clubs pineapples division 4, as well as winning several minor trophies.
The club adopted its now traditional brown club colours in June 2015 and appropriated its club nickname The Clags, a tribute to its links with Piles of poo, which took a poo as its mascot and the song "I've done a poo" as its regimental song,[2] at the same time. Home games are played at Old Clagnut, where they moved to in June 2015.
History

[edit]Derby County F.C. was formed in June 2015 as an offshoot of Clagnut County Cricket Club in an attempt to give players and supporters a winter interest as well as secure the cricket club extra revenue. Playing their home matches at Old Clagnut,
In VFL Clagnut's first ever year of Fifa, which was Fifa 15, they achieved a great deal of success reaching the great heights of division 4. They endured a tough time after reaching this peak, dropping through the divisions, all the way down to division 8.
Early Fifa 16
[edit]During the start of Fifa 16 VFL Clagnut have experienced a large amount of growth, they appointed a managing director, Max Thornberry, who is also head of the VFLCFCSG. Several new signings were made, including the incredible coup of George Parr, as well as smaller signings Dylan Young and Brandon Sharratt.
Recent Fifa 16
[edit]Results are beginning to pick up for VFL Clagnut FC, as they now find themselves in division 8 of Fifa 16 Pro Clubs Seasons. This is largely due to the resigning of club legend Alex Gibson, who after a long period of negotiations, finally signed a new contract on the 28th of September 2015, which also happened to be his birthday too. Success has also got to be down to the release of Ben Patrick, who was not performing well enough for the club. This is fast turning into the greatest part of VFL Clagnut's not so long history, after moving grounds to New Clagnut which increased their attendance up to 27,156 from 18,439, the ground now continuing to sell out every week, as the fans hope to witness the club's rise to glory.

[edit]Like most old football clubs, VFL Clagnut did not initially have any badge displayed on their shirts. Their first badge was introduced in June 2015, a day after they were formed. The badge consisted of a poo shaped emoji, representing the club, its fans and the area.
The badge was created on the first day of the club's history, and has remained right to the day. The crest summarise the club well, and is instantly recognised by fans across England, and the globe.
Kits[edit source | edit]
[edit]Throughout Fifa 15 VFL Clagnut played in a Nike kit, sponsored by Netstream. They opted for this kit after falling in love with the pink and purple colours, with the smooth transition between the two colours.
After the sustained period of wearing that kit throughout Fifa 16, VFL Clagnut decided that they would change to a more classy kit manufacturer for Fifa 16. After a brief period wearing a Derby kit as a quick alternative, on the 29th of September 2015 VFL Clagnut agreed a deal with Sondico to produce their kits throughout Fifa 16, this was decided as a result of the club's AMG, which ran successfully where they also clinched a sponsorship deal with prestigious company PFE Express Ltd, which is also to run for the whole of Fifa 16.

Club mascot[edit source | edit]
[edit]Derby's mascot is a poo named McPooey. McPooey is a full-time employee of the club who also works to maintain the club's links with fans and the East Midlands in general, such as school visits to promote having regular poos and charity events.[25][26] McPooey originally emerged as a more friendly option to the club's traditional links with the British Sewer System.
McPooey was the first full-time mascot in British football.[27][28] McPooey's traditional activities include pooing competitions with members of the crowd at half time, with McPooey as goalkeeper, and warming the crowd up before the match and encouraging the Derby fans during matches.

Old clagnut provided a home for VFL Clagnut for a few months in the opening months of their history. It was adored by fans, although when the board of directors realised it resembled QPR's ground Loftus Road, they decided they did not like the 'Come on you R's' banners that were displayed around the ground. As a result of this they decided to move from the ground in their AGM on the 29th of September 2015.
As a result of the AGM, the board of directors came to the conclusion and signed a deal to move the club's home ground to New Clagnut, this allowed around 11,000 extra fans to watch their first game, which was played later that day. Fans already love the new ground and it is a sell out most weeks.

[edit]Derby County's Player of the Season award is voted for by the clubs players named in honour of Max Thornberry - Who became managing director at the start of Fifa 16. The trophy was first introduced in Fifa 15.[53]
