Samuel McRae Rogers is an American Tennis player, Snowboarder, and Student at [Dobyns-Bennett High School] in Kingsport, Tennessee. Samuel, or Sam for short, was born at Indian Path Medical Hospital on February 12, 1992. Sam has resided in Kingsport, Tennessee for his entire life. His parents are William Kent Rogers and Allyson Edmisten Rogers. Sam has three younger sisters, Evelyn, Emma, and Elise, ages unknown.

Tennis Sam began playing tennis at the age of three. His father, William Kent Rogers, a former Tennis player and coach at East Tennessee State University, taught him the basics of the sport. Sam played for the John Sevier Middle School Tennis Team for three years. He then joined the Dobyns Bennett High School Tennis Team where he played for four years. Sam formally resigned from tennis after his senior year. He declined a five figure sponsorship deal from a popular athletic company and elected to not join the ATP or play college tennis at a division one university.

Snowboarding Sam began snowboarding at the age of sixteen. He self taught himself the sport and purchased his first snowboard at the age of seventeen. Sam's setup includes a 2009 Burton Operator 154 Wide snowboard with large Burton Cartel bindings set at 15° and -2°. Sam rides regular stance and wears Burton Moto boots, size 12. Sam enjoys riding at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Wolf Ridge Ski resort, both in North Carolina. Sam also enjoys jibbing in his hometown and occasionally enjoys backcountry snowboarding in Colorado.
