Supposedly, 80% of Wikipedians are male. Therefore, unless your userpage explicitly indicates which gender you are or your username makes it beyond doubt that you are female, I will refer to you as 'he'. 'He/she', 'his/her' etc are clunky, especially when used repeatedly, and sound odd when referring to a specific person. Sie and hir and similar terms are good ideas but not commonly understood.

If I get your gender wrong, please do not take offence, just correct me and consider adding your gender to your userpage.
