Ramco Group is an Indian business conglomerate...including cotton and synthetic yarn, cement, building products, software solutions, wind energy, biotechnology, and others.

Ramco Group was founded in 1961 by PAC Ramasamy Raja as a small cement factory called Madras Cements in Chennai, India. In 1962, Raja's son, PR Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha took over the company.[1]

Ramco Group sponsors Indian chess players, such as Vishwanathan Anand, Praggnanandhaa others. [2][3][4]

In 2022, Ramco Cements and Ramco Systems were the group's top revenue earners.[5]

Ramco Textiles[edit]

Ramco's textile division is made up of Rajapalayam Mills Ltd. and eight other manufacturing entities.[6] Ramco Fabrics is a division of Rajapalayam Mills Ltd. In March 2020, its commercial yarn dyeing and weaving plant began producing Greige fabric.[6]

Taram Textiles, a global home textiles company, is part of Ramco's textile division.[7] Competitors include Shahi Group, Ramco Group, Arvind Ltd., Nitin Spinners, Kanchan Group, Sangam Group, Donear Industries, Universal Textile Mill and Shahlon Silk Industries.[8]

Ramco Industries[edit]

In August 2022, Ramco Industries launched a new manufacturing plant in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, which will export products to 40 countries across the globe.[9]

Ramco Plexus[edit]

Platinum Packaging is a joint venture company between Ramco Group and Carton Manufacturers valued at more than KES1bn, when combining assets of both companies. It was incorporated in June 2009. The company is based in Africa and has stores across Kenya.[10] It holds a 7% share of the country's flexible packaging and labelling market. In May 2022, Ramco Plexus acquired Platinum Packaging after receiving regulatory approval from the competition Authority of Kenya (CAK).[10] Platinum Packaging operates in the consumer goods (FMCG), food and beverage and agrochemical sectors among others.[10]


On May 23, 2022, the board voted to split the positions of non-executive chairman and managing director.[11]


Printfection is a T-shirt design and custom printing company based in Denver, Colorado.[12][13] It was founded in 2004 by Casey Schorr and Kevin Materi.[14] In 2022, Printfection was acquired by Virginia-based Custom Ink.[14][15]

In 2022, Printfection had $1.5 million in revenue and 250 customers.
