Scotesia is a disputed region and partially recognized state in North East Scotland located in Aberdeenshire.
Scotesia declared independence in 2015, calling itself the Republic Of Scotesia. Scotland ceased to recognize this republic. Days after Scotesia declared independence from Scotland the republic of Imaal recognized Scotesia as a independent republic.
Scotesia was started after Scotland voted no in the Scottish independence referendum, 2014. A group of yes voters began forming the government what now is Scotesia.
History
[edit]Geography and climate
[edit]Scotesia is 1,900 km2, comparable to the Isle Of Man. Scotesia's only land border is with Scotland, and is an enclave of Scotland. The terrain of Scotesia follows the typical Scottish terrain of slightly mountainous downlands which are laced with villages and towns like of that the capital Alford. It is known that it is close to the highlands which results in a more mountainous landscape than the lowlands to the south. Scotesian landscape is rather mountainous near the capital region.
Political Status
[edit]All European Union, Council of Europe, NATO and United Nations do not recognize the Republic Of Scotesia as an independent state. The only country to recognize Scotesia is the Republic Of Imaal in March 2015.
Politics
[edit]Scotesia is currently controlling 40% of Scotesia, with a big demographic of Scots in Scotesia. Some small parts of Scotesian towns are controlled by the Scotesian Government. The political dispute has yet to be sorted and the Scotesian separatists authorities govern the region with effective independence from Edinburgh.
The Government of Scotesia takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential and of a multi-party system. The President of Scotesia is the head of state, leads the foreign policy, and is the Commander-in-chief of the Army. The Prime Minister of Scotesia is the head of government; executive power is exercised by the president. Legislative power is vested in the Parliament of Scotesia, and the government has limited rights to amend or extend legislation. The president has the power of veto over parliamentary decisions although it can be overrun by the parliament.
The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. The Judiciary consists of two systems, regular courts and administrative courts, headed by the Supreme Court and the Supreme Administrative Court, respectively. Administrative courts process cases where official decisions are contested. There is no "Constitutional Court" - the constitutionality of a law can be contested only as applied to an individual court case.
