The Forbes Flyers Jump Rope Team was Founded in 1994 by Coach Janice Harrington, the Forbes Flyers Jump Rope team demonstrates their Jump Rope skills at shows and competitions. They've competed internationally in IRSF World Competitions in South Africa and in London England. Anyone apart of the Flyers has to go to the elementary school, Forbes School in Torrington,Connecticut. Team Members consist from 3rd Grade to up to their college years. The team has 3 Levels. The Fitness team is for people interested in jumping for fun and for exorcise. When kids want to become more involved they work towards becoming on the JV(Junior Varsity)Team and later on towards the Varsity team. When on these teams you have to attend more shows and come to more practices. All members, whether on the Fitness Team or Travel Team must maintain a certain grade average and display appropriate behavior both in and out of school. Members on the JV and Varsity teams can compete in competitions such as The Holiday Classic held at the Apollo theater in New York City, many USA Jump Rope Regional and National Competitions and have also competed internationally in world competitions.
