  • CCT (Combat Control Team) is a special operations team within the Air Forces special operations command (AFSOC), trained in underwater an maritime warfare. It was established in January 1953, just before the start of the Vietnam War. Although they were a young division of the US Military, the CCT saw extensive action. The CCT is specialized in fire support for aircraft. All CCT members are FAA-Certified air traffic control operators. Although the CCT is its own division of the US Military, a CCT member(s) are often assigned to other Special Operations Forces, such as Pararescue, US Army Rangers, Special Operations Reconnaissance, and Tactical Air Command operators. Although the most combat from the CCT was seen in the Vietnam War, the CCT was also heavily evolved in the Global War on Terrorism, following the September 11 attacks.
  • The Combat Control Team was established in January 1953. Following its establishment, it was thrown right into the Vietnam War, in which the CCT say extensive action. The CCT us part of the US Airforce. After basic training, and a 15 week selection program, Combat Controllers are put up against a grueling 35 week training course, were the Combat Controller Academy sees most of its drop outs. Not only this, but Combat Controllers must become an FAA-Certified Air traffic control operator.

  • The CCT has an elite company named the LRPC (Long Range Patrol Company). This name is used universally through out many branches of the US Military.
