New article name goes here new article content ... Pravin Joshi (1936- 1980) was a popular theatre actor-director-playwright of Gujarati Theatre. He was part of Indian National Theatre (INT) - Gujarati and has made tremendous contribution to the new theatre in the 1960s and 1970s. He revitalised INT Gujarati Group and the Gujarati language theatre scene with his unique and inimitable style. He took keen interest in almost every aspect of making a play - from script and direction, to the lighting, sets and even the music!

He has worked with the finest artist of the time - Haribhai Jhaveri (later know as Sanjeev Kumar in films), Tarak Mehta, Damu Jhaveri, Kishor Bhatt, Burjor Patel, Sarita Joshi, Arvind Joshi, Kshemu Divetia, M S Sathyu, Shafi Inamdar, and many more. It was during one his plays, Saptapadi (2 actor plays), that he and Sarita Joshi fell in love and got married. they went on make several successful plays over the years. Pravin & Sarita also have a unique distinction of acting together in three different - Two actor plays, which probably has been done anywhere else in the world <Sarita Joshi talks about it><at a public event Gujarati Jalso 2014 at the Bhaidas Hall, Mumbai> The actor had untimely death in an accident while on tour for one their plays (Mausam Chalke)

He has directed and acted in several popular play such as Chandarvo, Saptpadi, Mograna Saap, Kumar ni Agasghi, Santu Rangili, Mausam Chalke and many more. Santu Rangili was one of his most popular plays which was adapted by well known gujarati writer Madhu Rye from George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. The play ran for over 9 years.

Pravin was know for his unique style and had the pulse of middle and upper class Gujarati audiences. He was a keen observer and used the stage very effectively and emphasized on use of neck and body to get desired results.
