Taka Atsugi (厚木たか, born March 3, 1907 - 1998)was a Japanese film director, screen writer, and activist. She is well known for her translation of Paul Rotha's Documentary Film (1952) into Japanese.[1]

Biography

Atsugi continued to write her autobiography until she died. However, there is not much personal information to be taken from it.[1]

Born Matsue Okada,[2] she adopted the name Taka Atsugi initially to avoid the Japanese police.

She was a member of the Proletarian Film League of Japan (aka Prokino).
