Dyuti Ghosh Halder is an Indian theatre actor, nutritionist, teacher and vocalist known for her work in Bengali theatre. She has performed in more than twenty plays since 2008 and is the recipient of Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards, 2016 for Best Actor in Supporting Role (Female)[1]. After studying Dietetics and Community Nutrition Management at Vidyasagar University,[2] Halder passed with flying colours and emerged as the gold medalist of her batch. She started off her career in Naye Natua as lead actor in successful and evergreen plays like Lakshmir Pariksha, Jaal, Othello, Moimonsingha Geetika among numerous others. Apart from being a theatre actor, Dyuti Ghosh Halder is also a successful nutritionist, passionate teacher, a trained dancer and vocalist.
Early life
[edit]Dyuti Ghosh Halder was born on 11 March, 1984 to Ashim Ghosh and Bhabani Ghosh in Kolkata. Her interest in the cultural fields began from a very young age. She was trained in classical vocal music under Guru Kishore Chakroborty. She started her training in dance at the tender age of five. Initially she took training from Sri Shakti Nag in bharatnatyam and later moved under the tutelage of Sri Prashanta Chatterjee. She has also learnt kathak under Smt. Alokeparna Guha. It is a little known fact about her that she has imbibed within herself the essence of two prominent gharanas of kathak- Jaipur and Lucknow. She has given performances as a member of the troupe Pushpak in Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Annual Concert organized by Pushpak and Concert arranged by Bangladesh High Commission among innumerable others.
She has passed her higher secondary with flying colours from Gokhale Memorial Girls College. She is a first class first from Gokhale Memorial Girls College in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her post graduate degree from Vivekananda University as a gold medalist in the subject Dietetics and Community Nutrition Management.
She is married to renowned actor Goutam Halder and is the secretary of the renowned theatre troupe, Naye Natua.[3]
Career

[edit]Dyuti Ghosh Halder has been trained in the art form of theatre under the guidance of renowned theatre actor and director, Goutam Halder. She is the current secretary of the renowned theatre troupe Naye Natua and also the leading training assistant in Naye Natua's in-house training programme. She has been acting in the lead role in various Naye Natua productions such as Doosra',[4] Mitali[5]', Creon & Antigone (Played the role of Antigone), Nakshi Kanthar Math,[6] Matir Gari Mrichchhakatika (Played the role of Basantsena), Othello[7] (Played the role of Desdemona), Thakurmar Jhuli, Moimonsingha Geetika (Played the role of Mohua[8]), HAOAI,[9] Lakshmir Pariksha (Played the double lead roles of Kalyani and Lakshmi), Missed call, Nana Range Rabi, Nekrassov and Jaal (Played the lead character of Yaggaseni). Apart from the previous achievements, she is also the lead musical accompaniment in Meghnad Badh Kabya, lead musical assistant and singer in Kabye Gaane and provides musical assistance and camera operation in Borda Borda.
She has also played the lead character in 21 grams (By Naihati Bratojon), Hamlet (Anyo Theatre), Sakharam[10] (Prachya), Bhunibabur Chandni (Curtain Call) and Jodi (Nirnoy Production).
Apart from performances, she has conducted and participated several theatre festivals throughout India. She has worked as an assistant director along with Goutam Halder in the children's theatre production, Lakshmaner Shaktishell.
In the field of nutrition and education
[edit]Dyuti Ghosh Halder has worked as a nutritionist (internship) in Apollo Gleneagles Hospital while completing her Bachelor's degree (2006). She is trained in CINI to work in community as a nutritionist during fulfillment of Bachelor's degree (2006). She has worked as a Assistant Teacher(Nutrition) at Ushumpur Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya n Vocational Course in the Higher Secondary Division in 2009-2010 and is currently working at Shree Sarada Ashrama Balika Vidyalaya as an Assistant teacher of Nutrition in the Higher Secondary Division since 2013.Dyuti Ghosh Halder also privately works as a dietician privately since 2012(private chamber at Naktala, Kolkata).
